Once again the digital otter splashes up out of the data stream and tracks muddy wet prints through the thick layer of dust on his log. "Hmmm...well, I suppose I ought to say, hey, whatcha know, life is starting to suck less. Having more money coming in so that I'm not living hand to mouth is kinda nice. Of course I still have to be careful with my money - I had a miniature spending spree that ended up a tad less successful than expected - having bought a new DVD player, I discovered whoops! my piece of junk ancient TV won't work with new technology. Heh...oh well, next up on the list of purchases to make is a computer upgrade and that will let me watch DVDs, so its all good. The TV will come later - I just have to be patient, and I do know how to be patient." (^.^) |

Have you ever had a bad day - a day where nothing really went right - and then someone tries to go and tell you it was actually a pretty good day? Yes, I'm aware that in the grand scheme of things, the fact that the birds sang and the sky was blue and we live in a free nation and all that other platitudinal excrement - that's all quite nice and I'm thankful for it. That still doesn't change the fact that the day was very stressful for me, my guts are still in knots over it, and I really want to bite something. Now imagine a person trying to insist that it really wasn't such a bad day and persisting when the understandably stressed person pretty much growls for the other person to drop the subject. Imagine the cheerful person persisting and then acting hurt and upset and even offended when the stressed individual verbally snaps at them. How do people get this dense?

ARGH! I'm technically employed, but if a certain company and a certain branch of the military don't work out their schedules, that won't mean a lot because I won't be working enough to pay the rent. *beats head against a wall* Its not like I'm screwing up or anything - the only training we've had has been OJT, and I think I've done pretty good with what I was handed, but there is no way I can better and faster if they won't let me come in to work or spend time training me. GRRRRR! |
